Mellow Parenting Course
Starts September 2010
The aim of the course is to help parents explore their own early experiences and how these affect them as parents. The course also works directly with parents to help bring about changes in their parenting and relationship with their child, by drawing out positives in their parenting while providing additional support for areas they want to work on.
When a referral has been received, the group facilitators will contact the refferer and the family. The facilitators will visit the family before the group starts, to give them more information about it and help them decide if it is the right group for them.
The course is for families living in Knowle West, with relationship problems with their child(ren) under 5 years. It will run each Friday from 9.30am-2.30pm, for 12 weeks.
There will be some time for parents and children together and some time apart (Children will be cared for in a creche on the premises during this time).
