NHS: What’s happening on 1 July 2022?
How does the NHS in England work and how is it changing?
From 1st July the NHS is changing. Integrated care across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire
In Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, the NHS, local government and the voluntary sector have been working in partnership for many years to improve care, provide more joined-up services, and to agree and plan for local people’s needs. Because of this, we received formal Integrated Care System (ICS) status in December 2020.
From 1 July 2022, our ICS becomes a statutory (legal) entity under the The Health and Care Act.
Known locally as the Healthier Together Partnership, our ICS includes councils, NHS hospitals, GP practices and community and mental health services. Together, we are working to improve health and wellbeing, reduce inequalities, and provide services for the one million people living in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
Working with people and communities effectively helps ensure that we commission the right services in the right way to meet the needs of the population we serve.
We offer a range of services and activities for all ages, and all levels of health and fitness – basically there is something for everyone! The outdoor areas include play facilities, picnic areas, art installations, an Amphitheatre, outdoor gym equipment, a measured mile for walking or running, and football and basketball nets.
Our main goal is to provide high quality services to prevent illness, promote good health and assist recovery after medical treatment. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and look forward to meeting you soon.
